Fandango’s Flash Fiction Challenge- Careful

Rosa was careful. She always had been. She had spent a lot of time tip-toeing around explosive parents. Creeping under bullies radars. And being so middle-of-the-road in class, her teachers hardly ever noticed her.

Unlike most of her peers, Rosa didn’t care for big parties, belonging to a clique and getting boys to notice her.

There was only one thing she wanted and she was willing to do everything in her power to get it.

After all, she had spent her entire life cultivating the perfect persona.

She spent hours in the library, every second she could spare in fact, researching as deeply as she could. Never checking the books out, never taking notes. There was never a trace of what she had been reading.

Just as planned.

Some day, some day soon, she would follow enact on her plans and start her carefully prepared murder spree.

But for now she was content to plan.
