Flash Fiction- You Were Forever

It wasn’t supposed to end like this. It wasn’t supposed to end.

You were my forever. We were perfect together. I did everything for you, I loved you, cherished you, protected you.

I literally killed for you.

I know, I know, I was a bit over the top, things got a little out of hand… But you used to love that fire, that passion, that insatiable animal that you fell so hard for.

You can’t have the beauty without the beast babe.

That’s what you always said when I was having a shit day. When the fire burned so hot it would consume me. So what changed?

That other guy that was sniffing around you like a dog in heat, he needed to be told. He needed to know that you weren’t just some bitch he could he could gnaw on like a bone.

I swear, all I was going to do is chase him off.

I’m sorry he got hurt. I’m sorry you had to see me like that.

Why did you have to scream so loud?! I know, I know, you come home and find your boyfriend covered in blood, holding a knife above a dismembered body, you freak out a little.

But you would not. Just. Shut. Up.

Why were you so fragile?

Why did you have to break so easily?

Why does everything break so easily?
