The secret at the bottom of the garden

All children know of the secret world that hides itself at the bottom of the garden. The world of fairies and elves, goblins and ghouls. Where gnomes are kind and helpful and fat toads grumpily watch active children, just waiting for them to step a toe out of line to receive a whip of their tongues.

Teetering toddlers stumble; quite literally; onto the peaceful towns and villages as they first learn to explore the world around them. Patient pixies teach them where to step, what to look out for and most importantly, not to tell the grown ups!

It’s always heartbreaking, when a child stops believing, when they grow up, go to school and the ‘real’ world starts to demand too much of them. Strangling their imagination, chaining them to a magicless reality.

But if you still believe in a world of magical fantasy and you creep down to your garden tonight, with an imagination as unsullied and pure as a babes. You might catch a glimpse, just a shiver of a glimmer of the secret at the bottom of the garden.
